Marie Ann Longlade-Link - Artistic Director and Principal
Marie Ann has decades of experience as a professional soloist in ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatic, highland and baton performing. She created the school to help bring dance to a new generation of young people. In her approach to teaching, Marie Ann focuses on developing self esteem, high energy levels and quality dance skills in her students. It was this dedication to her students that earned her the Mississauga Arts Dance Award in 2001. Marie Ann is the proud mother of eight and has 17 amazing grandchildren!

Lee-Ann Longlade-Poff - Artisitc Director & Vice Principal
Daughter of Marie Ann, Lee-Ann has travelled across the United States of America to study and compete in dance. She also has taken dance examinations with CDTA in Ballet, Tap and Jazz including her teachers. Lee-Ann graduated from Sheridan College, where she studied Social Service & Post Grad in Educational Assistant. She has been a staff member of the school since 1998, teaching ballet, tap, jazz and acrobatics. Lee-Ann has successfully entered students in competitions with Dance Educators of America, Sheer Talent, Believe and Ontario Dance Challenge and in examinations with the C.D.T.A. Lee-Ann has two children.

Gail Longlade-Kossel - Artistic Director & Vice Principal
Gail is Marie Ann’s daughter and has a lifelong passion for dance. She was a C.N.E. Rising Star Finalist in 1988 and was able to travel and study extensively though Canada and the US thanks to several well-earned scholarships and awards through the Dance Educators of America, Sheer Talent, Believe and Ontario Dance Challenge. She has been an associate teacher at our school since 1990 and her students have been successful in competitions throughout the country and the States. Gail has three beautiful children.

Sydney Faulkner - Instructor
Sydney found her passion for dance at age five, training extensively in a variety of dance styles including classical ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, musical theatre, and acrobatics. She competed with the Longlade Dance Company for twelve years in both Canada and the United States receiving many overall awards at Regional and National competitions. During this time, Sydney received full scholarships to Dance Educators of America’s Summer Ballet Seminar, as well as the Sheer Talent Ltd. Summer Ballet Intensive. Sydney graduated from Cawthra Park’s Regional Arts Program as a dance major where she was a member of the auditioned Dance Repertoire Ensemble, performing and training both locally and in the United States with a focus on modern dance. Sydney received an Honours Bachelor of Science from Wilfrid Laurier University where she was Captain and Choreographer of the Competitive Dance Team, leading and training with a team that was highly recognized and awarded at varsity-level competitions across Ontario. Sydney received an Award of Excellence in Dance Instruction from Laurier Athletics & Recreation. Sydney is an Associate Member of the Canadian Dance Teacher’s Association certified in Classical Ballet, and a proud member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance. Performance opportunities have taken Sydney to several notable locations including Downtown Disney World’s Mainstage, the 2014 Miss Universe Pageant, and Boots & Hearts Music Festival. Sydney is now completing her Master’s of Biomedical Science at the University of Guelph and is excited to be teaching and choreographing for the Marie Ann Longlade School of Dance for her seventh year.
Vanessa Sousa - Instructor & Office Assistant
Vanessa began dancing at the Marie Ann Longlade School of Dance in 1998 and continued to dance at the school for the following 16 years. She was apart of the MALSD competition team, receiving numerous awards and scholarships. Vanessa attended Cawthra Park Secondary School for their dance program, receiving an arts certificate. She then went to Ryerson University and completed her Bachelors of Social Work. Vanessa is now attending University of Toronto – Ontario Institute for Studies in Education for her Masters of Teaching, with the goal to teach grades K-6 within a school board. She has completed Intermediate Classical Ballet Examinations with CDTA and the Cecchetti Society of Canada and has also successfully completed her Associate Ballet Membership with CDTA. Vanessa continues to strive to become a more experienced and knowledgeable dance educator.

Tamya Christogu - Instructor
Tamya began dancing at the tender age of 4, and began her training at the Marie Ann Longlade School of Dance, in Ontario, Canada. She became a member of their competitive team at the age of 8. She studies various genres, such as Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical and others. She has taken multiple dance examinations with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association and is also an affiliate member with the association. Tamya is also a student at Cawthra Park Secondary School, a performing arts high school in which she participates in the dance program. Tamya is also a two-time National Title winner at Dance Educators of America and Sheer Talent LTD. She is looking forward to an amazing year of dancing with her students!

Paige Kossel - Instructor
Marisa (Falcone) Rienzo - BFA - Instructor
Marisa is an established performer, choreographer and dance educator. She began training at Marie Ann Longlade School of Dance in 1992 and has advanced training in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern, contemporary and musical theatre and continues to expand her dance knowledge by taking class wherever she travels. She also obtained certifications from the Cecchetti Association, C.D.T.A. and R.A.D. As a teenager, Marisa furthered her arts exposure and studied piano and vocal lessons, knowing that these talents would advance her career someday. In 2008 she graduated from Ryerson University’s Theatre Dance Program obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with Honours.
Marisa has competed throughout Canada and the United States and won numerous scholarships and awards. She is a proud member of the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association, ACTRA and the Professional Adjudicators Alliance.
Marisa’s professional performing career has taken her to many exciting places. Upon graduating from Ryerson, she set off to sail the high seas with Disney Cruise Line as Dance Captain, making magic and sharing the stage with some of the most famous Disney characters! Back on land, Marisa has had the opportunity to perform for a number of professional theatre companies all across Canada, most recently completing her debut season at the Stratford Festival. She appeared in Crazy For You and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Other favourites include: Demeter in Cats (Nu Musical Theatricals), West Side Story (Rainbow Stage), Mary Poppins and Legally Blonde (Theatre Aquarius), Snow White (Ross Petty), All Shook Up (Stage West); Grace in Annie (Niagara Theatre), Wizard of Oz; Blood Brothers (Drayton Entertainment); Joseph and the Amazing… (Stage West). She has also taken on the role of Associate choreographer for Drayton Entertainment and Assistant to the Director at Stage West.
Marisa is currently enrolled in York University’s Faculty of Education Program. She is excited to share her knowledge with new talent, giving them guidance to further their training and performance ability.
Christina Policelli -Guest Instructor & Office Assistant
A graduate of the Marie Ann Longlade School of Dance, Christina has competed in both Canada and the United States with their competitive team and received several awards and scholarships to continue her studies in New York and Las Vegas. Christina went on to graduate from the University of Toronto. During her time at the University, she was a member of the Silhouettes Dance Company as a dancer and choreographer. Christina has completed many exams in ballet, tap and jazz with C.D.T.A. and ballet exams with the Cecchetti Society of Canada.

Anica Barac - Guest Instructor
Anica started dancing with the Marie Ann Longlade School of Dance as a way to pass time on Saturday mornings in 2003. She did not expect to fall in love with dancing and she is still with them today. She has also been on their competitive team since 2006 competing with them in Canada and the U.S. She has won many awards and scholarships and has completed Sheer Talent's summer Ballet Intensive in Las Vegas Nevada on full scholarship. Anica has completed many CDTA ballet, tap, and jazz examinations including Major Intermediate Ballet Exam, Major Advanced Tap Exam and Major Elementary Jazz Exam. Anica is currently attending Father John Redmond C. S. S. & R. A. C. She has been apart of their dance program since 2012 and apart of their Advanced Placement Math Program since 2012. Anica has taught for the Marie Ann Longlade School of Dance for only one year so far and she is excited for what this year will bring.
