Kasia Chichòn

Kasia Chichón has been teaching dance since 1993 throughout the private sector, including in
her own ballet school and for various school boards. She is a Registered Teacher with the
Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), holds her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies and is a
certified teacher through the American Ballet Theatre’s NTC program. She spent over ten years
as a RAD tutor for student teachers enrolled in the CBTS program starting their journey to
become ballet teachers.

During her years of teaching many of her students have gained admission and scholarships to
various professional ballet schools and have worked with major ballet companies. She has also
trained dancers successfully for international ballet competitions such as the finals of YAGP
and the Margot Fonteyn competition. Additionally, many of her students have successfully
completed RAD examinations up to and including receiving Distinction in Advanced 2.
Kasia holds her Masters of Teaching (Dance) degree with Distinction. Much of her research has
focused on teaching methodologies to optimize student learning specifically as it relates to
pre-pointe and pointe training, as well as investigating the social, economic and political
factors which affect the dance learning environment.
